Torrential downpours dumped more than five inches of rain in some parts of the Chicago area Saturday morning.
The west suburb of Westchester appears to be among the hardest hit. Residents are reporting flooded local streets and flooded basements.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - July 23, 2010 (WPVI) -- Police are now dispatching officers to accident scenes over the computers in patrol cars instead of police radio.
t's a city wide crackdown on wreck-chasers.
"Racing to the scene, and, we believe police and fire are the emergency operations vehicles. Tow trucks, while they're important, there's no reason for them to be going 70 miles per hour or blowing through red lights," Deputy Commissioner John Gaittens said.

Barefoot Bandit Colton Harris-Moore Arrested in the Bahamas |

The Barefoot Bandit has finally been arrested. The Barefoot Bandit (Colton-Harris-Moore) was arrested in The Bahamas, bringing an end to a two-year search for the alleged perpetrator of numerous crimes. The report
came through just this morning that Colton Harris-Moore was arrested before dawn on northern Eleuthera Island, and that there will be a news conference hosted by the Royal Bahamas Police Force at some point today. This is huge news for all of the people he has been accused of stealing from in Washington State, and brings an end to an alleged wave of crime that he has been taking out on people since 2008. Now residents may finally be able to rest easy after several years of hearing about crimes by the Barefoot Bandit.

Officials at Unity Health say a Monroe Ambulance parked in front of the emergency room entrance area at Unity Hospital on Long Pond Road in Greece caught fire just before 5:30 p.m.
Unity Health officials say smoke entered the emergency room area, and 45 patients who were inside were quickly evacuated by staff into a special care area. No injuries were reported. Fire officials say an electrical problem in the engine may have caused the fire. They say at one point, the flames rose 15 to 20 feet in the air. Fire officials say the ambulance is a complete loss, but the flames did not spread into the hospital. The outside of building was damaged from the smoke.
